Memories of a Woman
About
The Memories of a Woman exhibition invited guests into the profound and complex world of women’s memories, reflecting the personal experiences and spiritual legacy that shape each woman’s life. Through my art, I aimed to preserve these memories on canvas so they not only remain in women’s hearts but also become a heritage for future generations.
In creating this collection, I explored how memories are passed from mother to daughter, forging a shared fate through a delicate bond. I wanted to capture the way values, beliefs, wisdom, and even karmic elements—rooted in a rich ethnic and ethical heritage—are handed down through generations. This exhibition seeks to honor the powerful bonds of women’s collective memory and to inspire each woman to consider the values she wishes to pass on to those who come after her.

“Ayla says that her reactions and feelings reflect those of the women in her family because she is the book of their collective memory: “Their experiences and emotions have been passed on to me through the generations, shaping my perception of the world. One day, my future descendants will inherit my memories and experiences. My memories and stories will become part of their inner world, woven into the fabric of their lives, just as my ancestors' memories were woven into mine.”
In addition to showing my art, my exhibition held a charitable mission. $3400 raised from the sale of my works, were donated to « Azerbaycan Usaqlari Ictimai Birliyi » which is a charity that protects rights of young women in danger. My donation will be able to support transportation and books of 7 girls for their 4 years in university .
