ART PORTFOLIO
Artist statement
My primary medium is oil pastels, though I occasionally work with acrylic or oil paint. I also enjoy experimenting with mixed media, using materials like modeling paste to prep the canvases. I create art impulsively, with quick, abrupt strokes that mirror my emotional response to the subject.
I find inspiration in everyday life, capturing small details through texture and color—two elements that are crucial to my work as they set the mood of each piece. I mainly depict human figures, which appeal to me because of their unique shapes and the challenge of conveying their character.
My goal is to capture memories and categorize them into four seasons, each representing different phases of memory. Spring stands for birth and early core memories; Summer reflects nostalgic moments filled with warmth; Autumn represents the shifting quality of memories and the false ones that deceive us; and Winter depicts the death of memories, as they slowly fade and betray us. Through this interdisciplinary approach, I combine my love for science and art into a coherent story.
